I started dosing pps- pro last week and I hAve not been able to get my trate lvls above 1 or 2 ppm I was wondering if this is normal or if maybe I'm doing something wrong. This is a 55 gal community tank with co2 injection 2 t5 ho and 1 t8 floramax.

Stock is:
10 skirt tetras
1 oplaine gourmi
5 cae
1 swordtail
1 rainbow shark
5 lepord danios
1 clown plec
10 or so ghost shrimp

What test kit are you using? I don't know of any hobbyist test kits that measure in anything but 10 ppm increments.

I have to say that is a first! I agree that no test I have ever seen measures nitrate that low. But having nitrates that low isn't always a bad thing. If your plant load it high enough. They are probably just using it. If it's an API liquid test kit you are using make sure you are shaking the #2 bottle for a minimum of 30 seconds like your life depends on it. If it's a test strip they are notoriously inaccurate.
