Could someone please help me with some advice on a fine tuft like black algae on the leaves of my lowest plant leaves?

I have a 50L planted tank, my pH is 6.8, Nitrite and NH4 negligable, and Nitrate only mildly registering as I keep up my water changes well.

Contents is as follows

1 Betta

10 Danio Margaritatus

5 Ottocinculus

Dozens of Cherry Shrimp

Water flow is good, swaying all the algae affected leaves.

Welcome to AA! :)

Sounds like black beard algae to me. We've had SAEs that will eat some of it, but most fish won't touch it.

What type and wattage of lighting do you have? How long do you leave the lights on? Do you use any CO2 or fertilizers?

I agree. Sounds like black beard algae. My experience with it is temporary until tank adjusts. Try ur lighting as mama said. Wiping it off can easily rid it, tho its not fun to play with.
