Check the Excel label to see if it has copper. Copper is pretty toxic to nearly all freshwater inverts.

Where did you get your snails? I've found that Mystery snails from places like petsmart are often times ill or weak and don't last very long.
Make sure they're getting enough to eat. They can be feed quality wafers made for bottom feeders, I like Omega One veggie rounds. They'll also eat high calcium veggies like green beans, spinach, darker green leaf lettuce, and shelled peas. That should make them perk up. Wash the veggies thoroughly to rmove the pesticides or better yet buy organic and just rinse well. |

Well, out of the 5 snails I originally purchased, I have 3 left. 2 of them croaked, and I found empty shells and a snail body laying on the gravel. The 3 that are left seem happy and healthy now though.
