I have some more questions on foreground plants. I have artificial decorations in my tank and I was wondering if I could attach foreground plants like Java Ferns or Anabuis(spelling) to those? I've heard of attaching it to real decor, does that have like nutrients in it or something? Will these type of plants grow on any surface? (How about rocks?)

And does moss like plants require a fertilizer or substrate fertilizer because I have neither and I want this in my tank.

Thanks,
-Joe

You can attach it to anything you want. They are epiphytic, in that they do not use typical roots to take nutrients, so they will get it from the water column. For the most part (in low light conditions) these plants do not require fertilization other than what the fish provide.
