Hi folks! What plant will work well in my 36g for a floating cover? I'm interested in smaller plants that are specifically acclimated to floating, hopefully something with smaller leaves and which provides fry cover.

Any pointers?

:thanks:

Lots of fs haha. What about water sprite or hornwort. They aren't adapted to floating but will have lots of spots for scared fry. They both grow super fast though and I'm assuming your'e using this for your 10 gal. Endler tank? Frog bit and duckweed don't provide much cover, but I would give them a try. Happy tanking!

Nvm didn't read post well enough. Water sprite and hornwort should be good in a 36 gal.

Moss Is the best, Fry easily escape predation while finding yummy little micro bugs to snack on..

Brazilian pennywort is my favorite floater so far, my shrimp absolutely love it. Starting dwarf water lettuce in my 16g and have water spangles in my Endlers tank as well as my RCS tank.

I don't do moss, just never had luck with any type I tried.

Anacharis can be floated? I have some wild val and wild anacharis in my area. I never even thought about moss! Great idea!

I wouldn't put anything wild into a home aquarium...
