FYI Coralife Lamp Replacement Time

I've seen this question asked several times, and also seen various answers. So, I went ahead and emailed Coralife to find out when the bulbs should be replaced. Here's what I recieved:

It actually depends on the plant species. You can go as long as 16 months for some species, and as little as 6 months for more sensitive species. On average if you change them out every 8 to 10 months you will be good.

Yeh, sorry I didn't mention. I specifically asked about the 65wt CF bulbs.

man that's got to be a lot of money to be spending every 8 months if you have a large tank.

What's the average life span of a T-5?

A year seems about right on a CF. I try to have it so all my bulbs are at different ages, and need replacement at different times. Replacing 6x 65w CF's at once is too painful to my wallet.
