If you plant glosso in a clump, will it stay that way for long? I know glosso is a carpet plant but I was thinking of trying it as a small foreground plant. Any thoughts? TIA
Glen.

When I shade it it grows up and doesn't spread around so persistently. Otherwise it's very adventerous and runs everywhere. Maybe make a little border to contain it? I recall Jeff Senske or someone isolating it as a midground in Iwagumi.

M. umbrosum, HM, and, as I understand, H. micranthemoides "Erect" may be better alternatives.

I'm with Joe, shading the Glosso will cause it to grow vertically in search of the light. I don't find it terribly attractive when grown that way and would also recommend something else for use in the midground. M. umbrosum is also one of my favorite midground plants, along with H. micranthemoides, R. rotudifolia, and Didiplis diandra :)
