Can anyone recommend any good hardy plants for a fresh water aquarium. I have brought one from a very reputable LFS of which may I add cost £4.75 a plant. It's been in my tank 3 day and it's all dropped to bit and the leaves have fallen off. All the other plants I have are around 1- 2 months old. The fish have not eaten them they just swim around it and I don't know the name of it. Tried to find it on internet but gave up after 5 hours. Any advice would be grateful .

What type of lighting do you have and what size is your tank? If the lighting is not adequate, the higher light plants wont do well.

Anarcharis, anubias, Java Fern and Java moss are low light plants ... consider those ... see the link for ideas.

Small 65Ltr. I have 2 daylight 15w interpet energy bulbs. Used to have a moon light and daylight in but I changed it.
