Green water?

My C02 Diffuser broke(somehow), so I had to switch from co2 to C02 booster for over a week. Lo and behold, my tank turned green. I wanted a little confirmation on why this happened. Can the lack of Co2 and or shock of the transition cause green water?

Unbalance cause GW. It's hard to get rid of it.

If you can't find why you have GW, when you'll have tryed everything to get rid of it, you'll want to but a UV Sterilizer. In 3 days my water turned from pea soup to crystal clear, and my filters pads clogged some times
