Heater on overload

I woke up this morning to find the tank temp at 88.

55g
200w heater on lowest setting... "On" light is on all the time
Room temp 70.5

While this is great for my fishless cycle... Are my plants going to be ok at this temp?

Staurogyne Rapens
Java moss
Water sprite
dwarf hair grass

Should be - I guess it depends on plants but I've had the tank at that temp for a week or two with no problems for plants.

Looks like your heater thermostat broke down. What is the brand/model?

It depends on the plants. I have a bunch of plants that don't like 80+ temps..

It's a preowned top fin. Definetly has some years on it.
