Help Me Identify This Plant

So I was given a few sprigs/stems whatever as wisteria but I don't think that's correct. Am I mistaken or was I misinformed. I planted it to cover up a bare spot but I'm not even sure it's an aquatic species.

Also, is it rooting out of the side of the plant?

looks like water wisteria to me.

Well I'll take your word on it. I'm not very plant savvy so i tried looking it up and the pics looked different.
