Okay, I've heard quite a bit about how the WPG rule has become obsolete with advances in the hobby. I would like to get your opinions on my tank's lighting.

20gallon, 18" high x24" long x 12" wide tank

2x 24watt T5 HO lights

Straight up WPG is 2.8 WPG
Converted to T12 bulbs is about 3.8WPG
Lumens Sq inch is about 15.4 or 4444 Lumens out put.

What degree of lighting is this?

Would what Crepe has, also be considered high light over a 29g? Its one of those 30 inchers but with the bulbs for the 24.

I'd say it's plenty of light. The T5HO is nice because it's intense enough to penetrate to the bottom of the tank. The 24" bulb is better than the 30" bulb for availability. Finding 30" bulbs is difficult. Coralife makes them, but that's about it.
