I have the Fluval Edge 6g tank and I was looking at Java ferns and I was wondering if I can put some in my Fluval Edge 6g? I don't know how to plant them and want some advice. I've seen peeps plants them on driftwood and big rocks but I only have fake décor and small gravel pieces. Also what are good beginner fish for the Fluval Edge 6 gallon?
Thanks so much!

I use small pieces of flat rock (slate, petrified wood, etc) to tie the fern to. You could also tie it to a plant weight and let it sit on top of the substrate. You just don't want to bury the rhizome.

Java ferns prefer to be tied to objects like driftwood and rocks. A 6g is a perfect tank for shrimp. If you really want fish, you'd need to keep only really small ones like fish fry and maybe chili rasboras. But I would go for shrimp because you can keep a lot more in a 6g than fish.
