how low is low?

I'm sorry- I know I am probably driving you all nuts- hopefully this will be my last question. I thought I had this mostly figured out but I went into the lfs yesterday and they talked about T-5 and I didn't see this mentioned in the lighting sticky and I haven't been really able to figure out what is different about this lighting. Good? Bad?
