How to trim blyxa japonica

I've read around the internet saying that u need to remove each stem and trim it that way. I would like to avoid that as much as possible because I have so many! And be a nightmare to replant them! So I'm just wondering if there is a need to trim them, or any other method to do so? Cheers

the way blyxa grows is the runners kinda stack on top of one another so you should be able to just pull them off the top without disturbing the rest of the plant below.
