How to use CO2 test kit

so I've received my test kit but with no instructions...

Here is what I have.


Can anyone walk me through this?

Do you have 4 dKH standard solution? If not, look up how to make it, as Im not sure on the specifics (amount of baking soda to add, etc)

That stuff is crap, IME. Make some 4dkh solution, or buy some for $5 off ebay. Then add a couple drops of pH test solution (bromethyl blue) and you're set. There's a sticky in one of these forums with instructions on making 4dkh solution.

Agreed. The stuff that it comes with always reads really high, and its almost never blue...

ok, well I don't have a scale, and I just want to try it out. So what do I do? I have no idea what to do with this glass thing.
