65 is great for a 29.

What bulb are you planning to use?

65w over a 29g is great if you don't have CO2. You will still have alot of plant options.

Sweet that is great! Im going to be using a 65 watt 6700 K bulb.
I was thinking about doing a DIY nutrafin CO2 thingy.
Do you guys recommend I should dose with excel?

P.S. My GBR just died of bloat

I'm sorry to hear about the GBR. DIY CO2 is the simple, cheap way, but its also harder to maintain. Pressurized is the difficult (initially), expensive way but once it is up it is easy to maintain. Excel dosing is optional if you are already injecting CO2. It can't hurt but it probably won't make a large amount of difference.

They will, but at that light level you're just about at the breaking point for where the plants will begin to need it. If you don't want to do CO2, excel is a decent supplement. But I'd recommend getting a full pressurized CO2 setup.
