i want to plant, but i dont know what im doing when it comes to this

i have a 29g with my livebearers in it, and it currently has a small pod of grass, about 5 or 6 bulbs.

i have a 10g with my livebearer's fry in it, and have 2 bulbs of water grass in it.

i honestly have no idea what plants would be best for my tanks, and i am open to all suggustions. keep in mind that i dont even know the names of any water plants, so if you can tell me what store i could find them at as well, i would be greatful.

If you have just a regular light fixture, like a T-8, you could get away with java fern and java moss, crypts, wisteria, and anubias. They are all pretty hardy, low light plants. Java fern/wisteria and anubias are pretty common at most any pet store, including petco and petsmart...

You can order plants from people on this forum, too, and the results are usually alot better then trying to order online from actual companies.

to me that's a must read for folks starting off with plants. first, you need to figure out what type of lighting you have. if you don't have the appropriate type upgrade your bulbs or fixture. then you can worry about plants.
