I think this is either called java sword.or amazon sword. I forget. But anyway. This shoot here.. can that be used to.create a new plant.

Did u say plants? Like those three pieces are all plants. Nice!!!
 
I don't know why I would have to ever buy new plants after I acquire the species I want. It's so easy to duplicate.

It's an Amazon Sword. They can get very big. They are heavy root feeders and appreciate root tabs. ( plant food buried near their roots )
 
It is root tabbed. Use flourish brand tabs, ferts, and excel. The strate is flourite.

As long as you have a proper set up for the specific plant, most of the time all you need is the initial plant and you will get new plants or much more fullness out of the original. That's why it's recommended to leave room in your tank around plants, as with terrestrial plants too.
