Is my java moss melting?

I have some java moss for a long time and for some reason (while it was floating to grow it suddenly sank and stayed low with no gravel/filter. Is that a meltdown?

Is it green? Or brown? If it is green, it is fine.

My java moss lays at the bottom of my tank. I don't think that it is an indication of it's health. Mine had a bit of brown in it for a few weeks but it has completely disappeared. I have never had it float to the top before.
