Is this algae?

I'm still new at this stuff... can anyone tell me what this junk is growing on the pennywort? If it's algae, what can I do about it? Is this the kind of stuff SAEs eat?

looks like staghorn algae, I had a problem with this one.The only method that I have read is to dip the affected areas in a 10% bleach solution but I might be wrong, it might be some other algae.
