java moss ball

im thinking of getting a java moss ball for my tank i can only afford one is it worth it? or should i just buy some java ferns for like 4 bucks

hmmm... it may be java moss? You can wad it up in to a ball, but it really needs to be tied down to wood or rock to look right IMO. The marimo moss balls are a lighter shade of green and stay balled up from what I've seen.

it's dark green and stays balled up fine its just on gravel

First one is a ball of cladophora. Marimo balls are actually algae, not moss.

Possibly a bad choice... marimo balls need more light than java moss or ferns. What kind of lighting do you have?

That won't be good for java ferns, java moss, or marimo balls.
