Java moss help...

So I want Java moss for my shrimp..

A few questions..

Can they work in sand?
Will root tabs be enough ferts?
How do you clean the substrate with it in there if it takes over?


36g semi-aggressive
20g community
5.5g betta/ghost shrimp
3g betta
2g fry

I didn't have good luck with Java moss is just made a mess everywhere but my tank also has a good current...

No need for root tabs.... Java moss grows on rocks, driftwood etc. maybe on the substrate. It's not buried.
