Java Moss Questions

I want to go pick up some Java Moss from my LFS store today for an outside fish barrel with Goldfish. Will Goldfish eat Java Moss? If so, I probably want to cultivate it before putting it in, so there is more moss and spare moss in case it all gets eaten. What is the best way to go about doing this?

tear off a clump and put it in a bucket, put the bucket in a sunny place....

That's it, huh? Damn. I knew people told me it was easy, but that's really easy. Should I throw a piece of sinking food in the bucket to give some nutrients?

I never put food in there..you might use water from water changes that you do, that would add nutrients.
