When you have tanks that have plants that cover basically the entire substrate, how do you clean it? You can't python it can you 'cause it would suck up all the small grassy looking plants too right?

By the way, what are those plants called?

Foreground plants. There's several different varieties to choose from.

Depending on how a planted tank is setup, typically we don't clean the substrate.

If the substrate is completely covered then you don't gravel vac, just do a water change. However you would gravel vac the unplanted areas and under decor.
