Those are some nice pics. Man, that flex mini is a perfect fit for that tank. Ohko stone is definitely one of my favorite hardscape materials due to the character. I like your style Slavo!

Thank you.

I knew I wanted to try the Azoo Flexi Mini out, but always thought I'd try it on my ADA Mini S. That was until I discovered this Landen tank. Once I realized that the footprint matched perfectly with the dimensions of the light, I decided to buy it and use it on this one. I'm very pleased with the look and fit.

Regarding the Ohko Stone, I like it the for the same reason. It's got a lot of character and the nook and crannies make nice places to plant all kinds of things.

Yeah I have a good amount of unused ohko. Going to go like Nike (as you said) and just do it in the 3g long I have.

Playing with the hardscape a bit. Trying to see where/how I would arrange the main/father stone.

Thank you.

I tried various angles and such, but I felt this position better suited the stone's natural angle.

This will be my first time using Ohko stone/Dragon stone.

I got some new hardscape from my LFS and thought I would see how it looks in this tank.

What do you guys think?

I like the arrangement in the last picture the best.

So, reviving this thread a bit...

After trying a lot of different kinds of hardscape (Ohko stone, Termite stone, Manten stone, etc) I decided to go for a more low maintenance, simple scape and experiment with some stem plants. For hardscape I ended up using a single piece of black lava rock, which I picked up at a LFS.

Here is are some pictures of before and after planting (planted 7/25):

Here are some pictures of the tank after a top off and cleaning (this Saturday marked 2 weeks since planting):

Can't wait to see this fill in. So what type of stone is that you settled on? Is it lava?

Me too, but I've noticed all plants seems to be "melting", especially the Blyxa japonica. It's disappointing, but this tank is still a young blood, so I'm determined to find a remedy.

Yes, the stone is black lava rock, which I was never a fan of. Until I started to see some scapes this year (including some of Amanos, RIP) that employed that stone.

It's probably a lack of co2 with that much light. I know you're supplementing excel, but how much? If you don't want to go pressurized co2, then I'd at least rig up a DIY system. I'm almost certain you'll get a drastic improvement in growth.

Hmm good question, probably 1/2 capful daily.

I was actually thinking about switching to pressurized Co2 for this tank, although I'd rather not and I don't want to go DIY.

I was thinking about getting something like this, but not sure if it's worth it.

I also have the Fluval 88g Co2 kit, which I could rig up for this tank.

It's up to you, I'm sure they'll do the trick. I'm just not to fond of proprietary cartridges, especially when there's no solenoid to make them last. Maybe experiment with the Fluval since you already have it. If you do see a huge improvement, there's your answer, you'll be best to add co2 to the equation. However, I'd get a paintball system like the aquatek mini over that ista.

Ok, thanks for input Brian.
