thanks OS!
riccia is really a fast grower!
i think ill be adding 2 more cory cats soon. then a platy. and then 2 more oto. then the tetras. all over 2 weeks period.

Hey, love the scape Lib! That riccia is looking really good. Have you thought of a dark blue or black background? Makes the plants pop and hides the wires. Really like the sunrise, day and sunset idea, maybe some photos of that are in order? Thumbs up, following!

AH! background i totally forgot about that. It was in my to do list too. Yes I will be adding a background, but should it be plain color or pictured? maybe dark blue will do.
Ill be posting pictures (or a video) on my sunrise, day and sunset system. i thought of this idea because whenever i opened my lights on in the morning (when its still dark), my fish (especially shrimp) always gets startled, so i figured if only small or part of the light turn on first, it wont be as stressful.

blue

i cant decide lol. they were just placed on, not yet stuck on. which looks better?
also i got 4 new neon tetras thats acclimating in now. will be getting more later!

I usually prefer black for FW tanks, but I think yours would look great with the blue one. They all look great! Go with your gut!

Both the black and the dark blue look good, but the black looks warmer than the blue one and increases the perceived depth of the tank because it makes a seamless transition to your substrate.

Meet the fish!
1 dwarf gourami (sorry for bad quality images... need to use better camera)

Theres also an oto hanging out on an algae plant rock thing.
10 neon tetras

4 platys. the orange mm platy and panda platys have always been best buddies, they always follow each other around, even though both are guys. I also have a rainbow platy and a blue one, but the blue one is very shy, never comes out.

See that female guppy on the left? I call her the mothership... shes HUGE! idk how she got that big, shes bigger than my platies and possibly the dwarf gourami.
3 guppys (they had babies... at least 20 of em are in there, but ill be removing em soon and giving it away)
4 cory cats 4 oto cats 1 nerite snail (not all are shown)

And finally, a pic of the whole tank! black background as everyone said was better. I tried sticking the blue, but it became too distracting. Black is a good neutral background that will not sway your focus off from the fish and plants.

New plant in the center, an amazon sword. I wasnt sure what center plant to put.... can anyone recommend me one? Or is the sword alright to do? Hopefully it gets taller...

It looks great liberator. It has a nice look of a jungle bursting up in a field of black rubble. The stone selection you have is nice too. The Amazon sword should fill out the space between your moss trees very well in time. I think it is a good choice. Congrats on putting together a very nice tank.

nice tank. all the diy is awesome. really making me itch on not waiting to redo one of mine. might have to just start on one.
