Just wanted to know what the best lighting is for a planted aquarium to this day. I have a possibly 4-5 yr old 24inch t5ho nova extreme over a 36 gallon bowfront aquarium and feel like it isn't good enough to this day. Also my other question is what will I need to get a pressurized co2 tank going? And where can I get the items needed for a good decent price? Thank you all.

Lighting depends on your budget, what you want to grow, and preference to bulbs or LED.

Amazon for co2 man if you have
Prime. I used a pressurized paintball system for a while. I would look at getting a 5# bottle so it will last you a while.

Well I wanna grow medium to high light plants. And I do have prime. I just need to know what I'll need. Thanks for the reply!

I'm no plant expert by any means.

For my co2 system I used this stuff:

S.T. International Aquarium CO2 Glass Diffuser, 20mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I47YVVU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_R1eawbV8YB8H7

AQUATEK Bubble Counter with Integrated Check Valve (R-131) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008UC7SSW/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_c2eawbHNEQH16

AQUATEK CO2-Proof Tubing 16 Feet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008UCOFJW/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_u2eawb0Y93YH0

Premium AQUATEK CO2 Regulator with Integrated COOL TOUCH Solenoid https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WTXYN0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_L2eawb71HS4Z0

This attachment is if you use a paintball co2 bottle:

AQUATEK CO2 Paintball Tank CGA 320 Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004M49QDC/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_j3eawbF9S9RAX

I've used 24oz paintball bottles but this is what I would recommend to last you a long time before needing a refill:

Zebra DNA Luxfer L6X Aluminum CO2 Tanks with CGA320 on/off Valve (5 LB, Brushed) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085282UK/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_-3eawbYH1TV9H

Of course if you can find things used the may help prices, I didn't want to skimp of a pressurized system though. Trust issues of equipment failure ya know:)

Only thing I would add to this is another check valve. If you have to refill the bubble counter when it's hooked up you are going to get wet. If you get the aquatek bubble counter get 2. They are fragile and can break when putting the hose on, backup is always nice to have. Learned both of these the hard way...

Depends on your preference and budget. I love Finnex LEDs. If you like bulbs then do a T5 fixture with 2-3 bulbs.

The new Finnex 24/7 can support med/high light plants and looks pretty slick.

If your good with LEDs why not go big? BML 6500k Dutch is a very very nice light.
