Just wanted to see what y'all think. I just put up a 100 watt outdoor floodlight... It puts off 1500 lumens. Will this work for my low light tank... Or am I way off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it an incandescent flood light or does it have a cfl inside there? The incandescent flood light produces too much heat and does not provide sufficient lighting for plants. Once we find out what kind of bulb you have we can better help you.

Shouldn't it say on the box? I can't find it!

Okay, if it were a compact fluorescent floodlight it would say watts used and equivalency of watts in incandescent wattage. So it's incandescent. There are compact fluorescent (CFL) floodlights that provide better lumens per watt. If you would like these bulbs would better help your plants. If you can find a color temperature on the box when you buy it, a color temperature in the 6000ks would be good. Hope this helps, any other questions just shoot.
