I want to change my 55g out to live plants. I have had fw for 25 years and have never had live plants....I think its time!
I want to upgrade my lighting either way also to something brighter.
I dont need crazy hard to keep plants either.
I have read alot so far and i really dont get what will be too much light or too little light.
heres the specs to a light I was looking at, I know it cant be too low for basic plants...but will it be too high? Does this seem like something that will work for me? 2 features I like are the moon light, but I could build those. The other is it has a digital control and programable timmer right on the front of the hood, which is a definate plus in my eyes.
Would this light promote alot of algae growth?

Haha thats funny....that is the exact same ebay listing/ light fixture I was talking about!! Looks like im going to order,he seems happy with them. His pictures also answered a question the ebay seller could not...if you can operate the bulbs individually... it appears you can.
Thanks for the link I appreciate it!
