Currently I have a few low tech plants, and will likely keep it that way, but I have seen liquid co2 In the LFS. Would I see any positive result with my plants from that, or is it just snake oil?

Many use "seachem excel" daily as a carbon source.
The generic version Glutaraldehyde(the active ingreidient in excel) is 2x as strong for 1/2 the price.
Amazon.com: glutaraldehyde
It is a carbon source and NOT liquid CO2 as many think.
It can help with plants and problem algae in proper applications.

What plants do you have? Your plants should benefit from increased levels of CO2.

Currently I have some ludwegia, swords, blyxa japonica, rotala indica, and sunset repens. This is spread over 2 tanks right now, there's a 20 gallon and a 55 gallon. I am cycling a 60 gallon for the plant eaters to go into and the 55 will be come the planted tank.
