look at this purple plant i just got

Any ideas on what this is and its requirements? It was only 5 bucks at my lfs so i figured id risk it.

I really hate to tell you this but it's not an aquatic plant. It's a purple waffle plant. You need to take it out of the water and plant it in a pot. I really hate when fish stores sell these non-aquatic plants.

Thanks for the info but it kinda implies it will work as an aquatic plant like because it gives ph, placement suggestions, growth rate, etc....so will it live in the tank?

No it won't, look where it says "not a true aquarium plant". It will live for awhile but will slowly die. It is used alot in Terrarium's, which is what the link states... sorry. You can leave it in the tank till it dies but I'd remove it and plant it in a pot so it lives.

Thanks for the info... I guess ill enjoy it while it lasts :-(
