Does anyone have experience with a mexican dwarf crayfish? I'd like to get a crayfish for my tank but most eat plants. I like my plants. I've heard this one does not.

They don't eat plants. They are fish safe but are predatory. If they can catch RCS they'll grab them. Give them a hiding spot to molt in. They aren't social. A pair is ok in a 10g with sight breaks.

They won't eat your plants nor bother your fish(most of the time)
I keep mine in a heavily planted RCS 20 gallon & they seem to get along

Thanks guys! I was planning on having some ghost shrimp in my tank and I do want more plants. I have river stones in my tank... Should I make a sandy area for it to molt? The stances are larger than normal aquarium gravel so burrowing or digging will be hard.

I think after a few months I will have to find somewhere and buy a couple! :)
