Well I have a 10 gallon with a 15 watt bulb and I just recently got some moneyworts for the tank. *since I've had some really good luck with java ferns* Anyways the lighting maybe low but I'm not expecting much growth with it. I'm getting ready for my 29 gallon project, so I figure I'll jump ahead and get some plants growing, and I won't have to buy more in the future.

Anyways I'm having trouble planting these in *PFS* sand. They keep floating everytime a fish disturbeds the footing. The roots aren't long enough, its about 1 inch. Should I let them float till they get longer?

Any tips?

Thanks.

Floating plants is a great idea in your situation. Most plants will do well for quite some time while floating. Although they may bend and curve toward the light in a sort of weird way, they'll straighten right up once planted.
