So I was told mts are good to have for live plants anyone have advice on this

MTS keep the substrate aerated, which is good for plant roots. The roots can actually die and rot if they get packed down too tightly or the substrate goes anaerobic. It's not a big problem with gravel tanks, but I highly recommend MTS for any tank with sand substrate.

Yeah I have sand so I was wondering some people dont like these guys so I wanted to know if they were a perk or a pest

i have a whole massive amounts of MTS and i can tell you nothing bad about them

except that they may uproot your plants from time to time
if they are not well planted other then that they are cool to have

just dont over feed so you dont see alot of em
and you can always put cucumber and trap them there

and always keep a loach for population control one that
wont out grow your tank
