Do you know the wattage of your Coralife & Size of your aquarium?
Yes, Colored gravel will do if you have good enough lighting. I recommend Root Tabs and / or Flourish Excel liquid fertilizer for the first few months.

I am not at my house, so I am not sure of the wattage. My aquarium is 35 gallons. Thank you very much, you have saved me a trip and probably a lot of money (I was going to take out my substrate).

Ah! Yes..
I do want to change my substrate to something Darker, perhaps black. I find it makes the plants look alot nicer. JMO
