Hi Guys!

Need some advice on substrate for my planted tank -i got some bags ,label reading :Fish Decor Gravel Natural Silica .

Will this be okay to use or will it be to fine?
I have read that finer substrate can cause trapped gas ?

Its a fairly new planted tank-low tech .

Any tips will be appreciated

May just be me but a gravel with "silica" in the name sounds like diatom explosion? :ermm:

Sand and root tabs are perfect for low tech setups. You are thinking of anaerobic bacteria. This builds up over a long period of time in deep sand beds. As long as you don't go stirring everything up at once you should be fine. :)

thanks for the reply ImACoolguy!

This is what the gravel -silica looks like ?
