Hello everyone. I have a 29g tank and I have some rocks in there that I would love to have algae grow on since I have some cichlids that'll graze on it. My tank does not get direct sunlight and is only lighted up by the led lights in the hood. My question is, is there something I can do to promote algae growth on my rocks? My lights are on about 12 hours a day maybe more depending on my work day. Ph in the water is 7.8 ammonia 0, nitrites 0, and nitrates are like 10. Any tips would be appreciated.

They're tight under the lights actually. Thee tank has been up for about a month and a half. Maybe I just need to be more patient lol

What's your nitrate readings? If you can let it climb a bit higher that will help

You can also grow algae on some flat rocks in a sunny window and add them to the tank for grazing.
