newbie question: Why doesn't the CO2 given off my the fish provide enough for the plants?

I believe the problem is when there are more plants than the CO2 provided by the fish can handle.

DIY presurized CO2.. I just scraped up the links for this so I thought I would post it in here as well..
Clippard Minimatic online parts.. http://www.clippard.com/store/displa...p?sku=4CQF-PKG ... 10 pack of adaptors to go from the standard 1/4 inch threads to the needle valve threads 1/8 inch.. you only need one of them they are sold in packs of ten.. $6.70 http://www.clippard.com/store/displa...sp?sku=MNV-4K2 ....needle valve $10.40 other parts.. CO2 tank.. buy or lease localy.. welding shop.. yellow pages can help here.. CO2 regulator to thread the parts in.. home brewery or whatever is cheapest.. the needle valve modification will make a standard one work.. they are about $40 on e-bay.. Total cost $60 + tank.. doing it yourself... priceless.. Last edited by Fishyfanatic; 02-28-2008 at 03:58 PM. |

I was looking around on tropica's site and came across This
It shows the relation between Co2 and light, and their effect on plants in the aquarium. Some great information with some great understanding on why plants do the things that they do. |
