Well yeah thats what I heard...SAE's get like 6" dont they? What would be the way of distinguishing the difference between them?

The scales are usually outlined in black. Also pay attention to the black stripe as it goes through the tail. It should come to a point and go to the end of the tailfin. The false SAE's stripe does not continue through the tail. Also the false SAE's have a yellow tint to their fins.
