Have just received my dry ferts and am going to make my distilled water mixes.

A couple of questions:

Do people typically refrigerate once made into solutions?

I have seen the recommendation to add carbon to these solutions. What is the purpose of this addition, especially if already dosing carbon (metricide) independently?

I don't refrigerate mine but I have heard of that. I believe a small amount of glutaraldehyde in the trace bottle is recommended for reducing mold growth.
I purchased a third bottle and added the nitrates (KNO3) separately. There is an adequate amount of nitrate coming from the fish/substrate. This allows me to omit nitrate dosing as needed.
OCD me labeled the bottles with the amounts of each compound in grams so I won't have to look it up next time I have to make up a new batch. I even labeled the plastic dispensers to keep them separate as well.

quick question. I have mixed my phosphate and potassium. The mixture is clear. It looks somewhat colored in the bottles pictured above, but could be just the picture. Is clear okay?
