Newbie lighting question

Couple of weeks ago I planted a few low light plants in a 40g breeder, 36x18. The light I'm using is a 3 bulb shop light 48" T8 using 3 6500K bulbs, they overlap a few inches on each side of the tank and sits right on top of the tank.
Is this overkill or am I in the ball park for these types of plants... Amazons, Fern, Wisteria ?

Too much light IMO, I can see algae in your future!

So I could probably get by with two 32 watt bulbs?

Yes I would start there. It's easier to I crease light if plants don't look good than getting rid of algae.
