Osmocote

howdy all, just about to start a new 5ft tank 160 G ,looking to have plants and fish, was thinking of using a sprinkle of Osmocote plant food plus under a layer of RichGro Aquatic planting mix then gravel as the top layer ,
has anyone tried this , if so how did it work

Alot use osmocote frozen in tank water then pushed into the substrate.

Thanks for the info , now Im trying to work out lighting for my tank
Im thinking using plants as part of the tank scape and hopping to use
LED's just trying to get to the bottom of how well they work for a planted
tank
