I've been using SeaChem's Acid Buffer for about a week now. I use the recommended dose on my 55g Planted, and I'm trying to get the PH to a nice healthy 6.8, but it does'nt seem to be moving it at all. I've even cut back on my water changes to help it stay down, but it won't even move from 7.6.

Should I overdose the product? If not, what should I use? Should I switch PH up - down products? Or did I just get a dud jar of Acid Buffer?

I have a ph of 7.8 and my plants grow fine. Post a pic of your tank, maybe we can help.

very few plants need soft water to grow. most are very high light plants though.

Well my plants already grow fine. I was under the impression that a lower PH would double the growth rate. Thanks! I'll return the Acid Buffer, say it didn't work and get my money back :D
