I'm not 100% sure of the biological processes the suckermouth cats have that requires the lignin. My totally uneducated guess is its a similar process to cows, and they have some sort of bacteria in their gut which digests whatever it is they need in the lignin. I also read most of the suckermouth cats don't have a stomach proper; combine the high roughage with a VERY long intestine and poor digestion and you have a nice explanation for all that POO! LOL They must be the cows of the aquaria world...good thing they don't also have as much gas as cows do LOL

As for zucchini, it kinda looks like cucumber Neuve, usually a little thinner and longer and little darker green )although not always) as sweets said.

Lettuce is good too, but not Iceberg lettuce. Romaine lettuce has a lot of nutrients, my fish like it a lot, though I don't give it to them nearly enough.
