can anyone identify this? i did my best taking a picture
is it java moss? some kind of weird algae?

It looks like a moss of some type... the strands look too big to be algae, but it is tough to tell without some kind of scale in the photo.

i would guess java too.

not very fast at all. its been in a tank with low light and excel. it was wrapped around another plant. i'll take another pic later w a penny

oh, ok, I was under the impression that it had grown that much since you put the plants in. It is probably just a few strands of java moss.
