Plant or what?

Looked in my tank today and found about 5 wavey stick things with little tentacles on them waving in the water does anyone have a idea? It's a 20 gallon fully cycled freshwater tank

Maybe try google and compare pics on google to what you see. I have no clue what that could be.

Do you have any plants in ur tank? Maybe it's roots sticking out.

Yes I have some viney floating plants and a potted plant the potted plant is all the way on the other said of the tank

Is there any way its roots could be going through the bottom of the pot? If it has a hole or crack in it?

That looks like hydra to me.

Yes, looks like hydra to me too. They will consume fish fry, but aren't too much of a problem if you aren't breeding fish. If you do a search on Hydra you will find there's a ton of information out there on how to control hydra. Some gouramis are also supposed to eat hydra, but I have no experience with that method.
