plant question

hey i recently put a whole heap of plants in my freshwater they are doing fine but how do you clean the gravel or you don't and just do the PWC weekly? thanx let me know.

I just hover the gravel vac slightly above the substrate, aiming to remove some of the surface crud, but not disturbing the gravel or plant roots.

a lot of tanks i dont even use a gravel vac.... i tend to have a lot of root heavy plants and lots of plants so i cant get in there. what jsoong said is the best bet though.... if you go over the top in circles it will kick up the dirt.
