plant questions?

only 2 questions.
1.do java fern have a rhyozome bc they dont seem to do well when i plant them in the sibstrate?
2. is this aponogeton fowing another aponogeton?
you cant really see it but the little plant is connected with a bulb looking thing but its still green.

1... Yes, java fern needs to be attached to DW or rocks... and I can't answer 2. Lol.

haha i put it in a jumble of rocks. ill pm you the pick of my tank while i wait for the second answer, i hope it is another plant. i love these aponogetons.
