i just bought some substrate made for planted tanks and i washed it out as best i could and put in my tank. emediatly the water turned so brown you couldnt see into the tank at all, i drained the water completely and out new fresh water in and the exacpt same thing happend. i dont know what to do help?

Sounds like flourite. Give it 24 - 48 hrs. Should clear up assuming you are running a filter with poly floss or activated carbon. If you want it to be clear immediately then drain the tank and add water slowly by pouring onto a plate. You can also take a plastic garbage bag and cover the entire substrate prior to filling.

That is very normal with flourite. Give it time, it will settle/filter out.
